What support is available if I am struggling with my coursework?+
Your trainer and assessor is your first point of contact. We also provide additional learning resources, reasonable adjustment in assessment, and a Student Support Plan tailored to your needs.
Can I get assessment adjustments for personal circumstances?+
Yes. Assessment tasks can be adjusted to accommodate your individual needs while maintaining the integrity of the qualification. Speak with your trainer or our Student Support Officer.
What is the buddy programme?+
New students are paired with a peer from day one. Your buddy can help you settle in, navigate campus, and answer practical questions about studying at IVBT.
How do I make a complaint?+
IVBT has a formal complaints and appeals process. You can raise concerns with your trainer, the Student Support Officer, or submit a written complaint. Full details are in the Student Handbook.
Can I defer or suspend my enrolment?+
Under certain circumstances (compassionate or compelling reasons), you may apply to defer, suspend, or cancel your enrolment. Deferral is free of charge. Full policy details are in the Student Handbook.
What happens if I am not meeting course progress requirements?+
Satisfactory course progress and attendance is essential for your visa. If you are at risk, we will work with you to develop an intervention strategy. Details are provided at orientation.
Is there emergency support available outside business hours?+
Yes. IVBT provides a 24/7 emergency contact via our main phone number. Crisis support is also available through Lifeline (13 11 14) and Beyond Blue (1300 22 4636).
